Everyone at Energist dressed up as famous people or TV / film characters for Children In Need Day last week. If you’ve looked at the previous post you’ll have seen MD, Sarah Fenwick, dressed as Marge Simpson!
Other characters included Captain America and Danny from Grease.

And also from Grease, Customer Support looked fab as the Pink Ladies!
As well as dressing up, there was a “Guess the Baby” competition, a cake stall and various other events throughout the day. And we are delighted to have raised £660 for Children in Need!

The theme for this year’s Children in Need Day is doing something different. So at Energist we did something different by having our Children In Need activities the day before everyone else!
And of course it wouldn’t be Children In Need Day without some dressing up! Our theme was TV characters and staff voted on which character they would like Managing Director, Sarah Fenwick, to dress as.
And as you can see from the photo, the outright winner was Marge Simpson!
Looking good Marge Sarah!

When a customer required a SAP Assessment and Energy Performance Certificate on a garage conversion in Gillingham, they came to Energist UK – even though the area of the annexe will be less than 14 square metres when complete.
The new dwelling, which consists of a bedroom/living/kitchen combo, hall and toilet, is being upgraded to current Building Regs specification, and happily exceeds the required Target Emission Rate. The garage door is being replaced with a modern French window.
Although there are exemptions for teeny weeny commercial buildings, there is no similar leniency on stand-alone dwellings. Garages, whether detached or integral to the main house, may require calculations if they are to be heated to normal room temperature (around 18 degrees C). Other residential exemptions include temporary homes (less than two years), greenhouses and listed buildings.

PassivHaus originated in Germany where the 1st PassivHaus was built in 1991. PassivHaus is a standard for energy efficiency and PassivHaus buildings have very low energy use.
Unlike the Code for Sustainable Homes, which focuses on reducing CO2 emissions, PassivHaus is about reducing energy demand and is becoming a common building standard throughout Europe.
At Energist we have a team of fully qualified Energy Assessors who can guide you through the PassivHaus process, from initial building design to final certification. We can also provide technical advice and training on all aspects of PassivHaus.
