SAP2012 Consultation Released
The aim for Zero Carbon houses by 2016
BRE has this week released its thoughts on how SAP methodology should be changed in line with the planned revision of Building Regulations in 2013; the next rung on the ladder as we aim for Zero Carbon houses by 2016.
There are several key proposed changes to the SAP process, the biggest alterations involve using geographical data (such as external temperatures, wind speeds and daylight hours), new emission factors and more complex Accredited Construction Details.
You can read more details about the proposed changes on our blog (Jan 2012).
Consultation is open on the document until the end of March. It is anticipated that SAP2012 will be released in April 2013 in line with a revision to Part L / Section 6 Building Regulations.
The full document is available for download from the BRE website.
