What is a Display Energy Certificate?

A Display Energy Certificate (DEC) is a document that shows the energy performance of a building based on actual energy consumption as recorded. The DEC also shows the Asset Rating for the building on a scale of 0 to 150 using information from the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). The Operational Rating is shown on a scale from A to G, where A is the lowest CO2 emissions (best) and G is the highest CO2 emissions (worst). The Operational Ratings for the current year and previous two years are displayed on your certificate; this provides information on whether the energy performance of the building is improving or not.
