Residential Air Tightness Testing

Air leakage in your build makes it hard to control heating and ventilation systems. Ensure your build is air tight with a leakage test.

What is Residential Air Tightness Testing?

If your building services are working hard to keep a dwelling at the right temperature, the last thing you want is unwanted air leaking through the structure. By testing for air leakage you can isolate the hidden cracks and gaps in a dwelling which can harm your chances of compliance.

The government also requires a sample of all new dwellings to be air tested to ensure compliance with Part L. If an ALT is required of your build, you won’t receive an EPC until you pass, and asking for exemption will automatically default your air permeability to a painful 15 (m3/h/m2), making it harder to comply.
