Galliard required draft EPCs to allow for off-plan plots to go up for sale on launch of the development
The site had a complex façade, requiring close collaboration with the client and façade consultant to fulfil energy requirements.
The development had also been conditioned to secure a BREEAM Excellent rating, by the local planning authority (LPA), but faced technical constraints.
The shell and core nature of the BREEAM assessment meant that mandatory credits for Excellent in energy were unachievable, making an Excellent rating unattainable.
We worked closely with the façade consultant and architect to ensure all parties understood the implications of any design changes, given the strict limitations for the specification.
By working collaboratively and negotiating with the LPA we were able to secure a BREEAM Very Good rating for the development.
