To support our environmental objectives, we adhere to the following principles wherever possible:

 

• We develop relationships with suppliers and contractors that recognise our environmental responsibilities
• We educate staff so that they carry out their activities in an environmentally responsible manner
• We co-operate with the Government, with regulatory bodies and with other interested parties with the shared vision of being a good and trusted neighbour
• We use materials and products made from renewable, sustainable and environmentally friendly resources
• We buy recycled paper and only purchase essential stationery items
• We re-use where possible, for example making notepads out of used paper
• We use printers sparingly, using the double side function, printing in greyscale and using the power save facility
• We email reports to our clients to save paper and CO2 emissions from unnecessary transport
• We switch equipment and lights off when not in use
• Our cleaning products are environmentally friendly, biodegradable and non-animal tested
• Hot water for drinks is heated instantly at the point of use saving energy and excess water use by not filling and boiling kettles
• We have paper recycling bins throughout the office and also recycle printer toners and cartridges
• In the kitchen we recycle all food and drink cans, cardboard food packaging , plastic drinks bottles and glass
• Company vehicle mileage is kept to a minimum by plotting routes using sat nav units
• We promote greener driving that reduces fuel consumption
• We are conducting a review of fuel types for company vehicles, assessing the wider pros and cons of LPG and bio fuels against conventional petrochemical based fuels
